Because her children were baptized in Soegel parish, that parish's records were checked again and a corresponding birth/baptism entry was found there for Anna Tecla. The parents' names as noted above were taken from that record. Anna Tecla has not yet been found on a document in America but it seems likely that after the family's arrival in America she would have lived in St Louis, for at leaset a while, with her children. Her husband died in St Louis the year after their arrival and several of the children were married in the same city. At least 2 of the children moved to St Libory, IL in the late 1850s, early 60s.

SOURCES: Johan Gerhard's date of birth was on his MO death certificate. His approximate emigration year was known from censuses. That information corresponded with an emigrant on the ship Hansa who was also known from the family's entry on the 1852 census for Klein Stavern. So Soegel parish records were checked and a corresponding entry was found there for Johan Gerhard one year earlier than than the death certificate date and on Jan 3 instead of Jan 1. In support of this ID is the fact that several siblings who arrived on the ship Hansa settled in or near St Louis.
