SOURCES: Maria Gesina's date of birth (as Oct 31, 1826) and her parents' names were found in Lee Thielman's database. Other children with the same parents had been found in Werlte parish so that parish's records were checked and a birth/baptism entry was found there for Maria Gesina 10 months later than the date in the database but the closest match with the correct parents. The passenger list of the ship Republic and the 1880 census suggested her year of birth was ca 1830-35 but no baptism entry in Werlte records with correct parents was found for her during that period. Death information was from the database.
