Bernard Heinrich's
parents' names were not on his marriage record at St Francis
Xavier parish. His date of birth was on his tombstone and
that corresponded with an entry for someone with his name
listed on the 1839 Dalum, Hesepe census. The records for
Gross Hesepe parish were checked and a baptismal entry was
found there for Bernard Heinrich born 2 days before the
tombstone date. His parents' names, as given above, were
taken from that record. This ID is supported by the fact
that Bernard Heinrich was godfather for other children born
to the same couple and he also appears to have raised a
child of a daughter of that couple.

This ID is not
100% certain because Johan Bernard's parents names were
not on his marriage record at St Francis Xavier parish and
an exact date of birth is not known for him from any US
document. His age on the 1860 Cole County census corresponded
to that of Johan Herman, son of Johan Bernard Brand and
Maria Poetker, on the 1839 Dalum census and this couple
was known to have settled in Cole County. Johan Heinrich
Brand, thought to be a son of this couple, was witness at
Johan Bernard's marriage and Bernard Heinrich, another son
of this couple, and his wife Elisabeth were godparents for
Johan Bernard's two children. Gross Hesepe parish records
were checked and a corresponding birth/baptism entry was
found there for Johan Bernard. The children were baptized
at St Francis Xavier parish.

Anna Carolina's
parents' names and her age (25) were on her death record
at St Boniface parish (but her husband's name was not mentioned.)
His name was known from the baptismal record, also at St
Boniface, of their son born in 1889 which also stated that
his mother, Carolina BRAUER, was born in Lengerich. Records
