Anna Maria's approximate
date of birth was known from her age on the passenger list
of the ship Johan George and on the Father Helias
census. An entry was found for her and her family in the
book Auswanderungsliste fuer die fruehere Pfarrgemeinde
Twist in den Jahren 1838 - 1910 nach Amerika which gave
Anna Maria's parents' names and listed birthdates for all
of her children and said Anna Maria was from Lindloh and
her husband from Schwartenberg (both in Ruetenbrock parish.)
A corresponding birth/baptism record was found for her in
that parish. It appears that this Borgmann family either
moved away from central MO before 1850 or all members except
for daughter Angela died before the census of that year.
There is a gap of several years in the Father Helias' death
records in the late 1840s so the fate of this family may
never be known with certainty.

her marriage at St Boniface parish. Her approximate
year of birth was known from her age on the 1880 census.
Her parents were known to have been residents of Herzlake
parish so that parish's records were checked and a corresponding
birth/bapt entry was found there for Maria Gesina. Information
about her marriage and children was supplied by Tom
King.

Maria Anna's parents' names were not on her
marriage record at St Boniface parish but her death record at the same parish gave her age
(74) and her place of birth as Lingen. This allowed a probable entry for her to be
identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen
Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika. Her birth information and parents' names as noted
above were from that entry which also included year of emigration. Confirming this ID is
the fact that Stephen Meriens was witness at the Korte-Ess marriage in 1856 and Stephen
was married to Anna Maria Ess who had the same Ess-Ruy parents. Information about the
children was taken from the 1880 census and the names of beneficieries of Conrad's will. more about sources used
