a discrepancy in birthdates.
Christina's birthdate as May 2, 1862 and her parents'
names were noted in the WCdbs of Michael Ross and Dave
Halm. Because the surnames of both of her parents were
known to occur in Lengerich, that parish's records were
checked and an entry was found there for Maria Christina
Hilmes with the correct parents but one year and a couple
of weeks earlier that the date in the db. Information
about her husband, marriage, children and death was taken

Maria Theresa's parents' names were
noted on her marriage record at St Boniface parish.
Her approximate year of birth was known from her age
on the 1880 census. That information allowed an entry
for her to be identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen
und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach
Nordamerika which confirmed that information and
supplied emigration information.

Henry's approximate year of birth was known from his age
on the 1870 census when he was living with John Dunbar
and his wife Maria HINRICHS from Waldhoeve. Assuming Henry
to have been Maria's sister, Soegel parish records were
checked for a birth/baptism record for Henry and one was
found for Gerhard Heinrich, corresponding to Henry's age
on the census, and with the same parents as Maria.
