Anna Maria's parents'
names were not on her marriage record at St Ferdinand but
her age and parents' names and their ages were on censuses
and the passenger list of the ship Diantha. This
allowed an entry for her to be identified in in Walter Tenfelde's
book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen
Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which gave her date and
place of birth and confirmed her year of emigration. The
children's information was taken from the 1880 census -
the identity of Rosa, age 20, is not known. Perhaps Herman
had a previous marriage.

Bernard Theodore's
approximate year of birth was known from his age on censuses.
His probable place of birth was known from the passenger
list of the ship Diantha. Two entries (with similar birthdates)
for Johan Theodor were found in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen
und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika.
Because of the two dates, Beesten parish records were checked
and a corresponding record for Johan Bernard Theodore Keeven
was found on the date given above with the same parents
named in both Tenfelde entries. The marriage information
was from one of the Tenfelde entries.

Johan Herman's
date and place of birth and his parents' names were known
from family researchers and from the book Auswanderungsliste
fuer die fruehere Pfarrgemeinde Twist in den Jahren 1838
- 1910 nach Amerika. Twist parish records were checked
and a corresponding entry found there for Johan Herman.
The marriage date is from Dutch records and is about 3 months
earlier than the date given in the Twist book. Death information
was taken from a family history. The Twist book listed one
child, Joannes, born in 1863, Holland, but family history
and censuses list a child with the same name born 1867-68,
Holland. Information about the other children was mostly
from family sources.

Bernard's year and month
of birth and year of emgiration were noted on the 1900
census. That information allowed an entry for him to
be identified in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen
und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach
Nordamerika which supplied exact birth date, place
of birth and parents' names. (A correction to the day
of birth and mother's maiden name was made by Stefan
Hilling after consulting parish records.)
