marriage: Mar 30, 1869, St Louis, MO |
| SOURCES: |
Helena's parents' names were on her marriage
record at St Vincent de Paul parish and her probable place of birth was known from an
entry for her in the emigration index. Research in the parish records of Steinbild which
had already been done for her brothers Herman and Wenceslaus included information about
their siblings and provided birth information for Helena. Because her year of birth is not
yet known from any US document this ID is not 100% certain, although it is very probable. more about sources used |

Most of the information for this emigrant was
supplied by Margaret Krallman. Herman's marriage was noted as taking place at Sts Peter
and Paul parish. Herman's place of birth on that document was given as Aschendorf but a
baptismal entry was not found for him in that parish's records so the reference must have
been to Amt (district) Aschendorf. There was an Hamer emigrant (not Herman) from Steinbild
parish (located in Amt Aschendorf) listed in the Osnabrueck emigration index so the
records for Steinbild parish were checked and Herman's baptismal entry was found there
just a day earlier than the one noted by family sources. Herman's parents' names were
taken from the Steinbild record. more about sources used |

researcher Margaret Krallman who believed Thecla to be a sister of Herman Krallman.
Research done on the family of Herman Krallman in Steinbild parish records revealed that
he did have a sister Thecla born on the above date in Dersum. Marriage information,
children and death information was taken from an anonymous WorldConnect database (which
has Teclas year of birth incorrectly noted as 1878.) more about sources used. |

Maria Anna month and year of birth and
year of emigration were found on the 1900 census. That
information allowed an entry for her to be identified
in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer
aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika
which supplied exact birth information and parents'
names. Information about her marriage, children and
death were from Dave Halm's WCdb.

Mary Gill Smith who has this emigrant in her
WorldConnect datbase,
Carol Holterhaus and Richard Schaefer |
| SOURCES: |
It was known from the passenger list of the
ship Charles Henry that Albert emigrated with his married sister in 1837 who
settled in Damiansville, Clinton County, IL. Albert's first two marriages were St Boniface
parish. His birthdate as Feb 2, 1816 was given in the WCdb of Mary Gill Smith. Bawinkel
parish records were checked because his sister's record had been found there and a
birth/baptism record was found at the same parish for Johan Albert. The year was later
than in the WCdb but corresponds to his age on the passenger list and censuses.
Information about the children was taken from censuses and a family descendant outline. more about sources used |

| RESEARCHERS: |
Diana Rensing (Rensing512@aol.com) and Richard
Schaefer (rcsthor@aol.com) both descended from sisters of Johan Herman |
| SOURCES: |
Johan Herman was thought to have been a
brother of Helena Aleida RENSING (born KRIEGER in Bawinkel) because both emigrated from
Slagharen on the same ship. His approximate year of birth was known from his age on the
1850 Clinton County census (listed as GREGER) and with that information a baptismal entry
was found for him in Bawinkel parish records with the same parents as Helena Aleida. The
identification was strengthened by the fact that Helena Aleida was godmother for Herman's
child born in Germantown, IL, in 1843. Information about the child born ca 1849 was taken
from the census. Herman's wife's name was known from the older child's baptismal record at
St. Boniface parish. more
