Adelheid's approximate year of birth was known
from the passenger list of the ship Johan George. From that information an entry
was found for the Kuss family in the book Auswanderungsliste fuer die fruehere
Pfarrgemeinde Twist in den Jahren 1838 - 1910 nach Amerika which gave a precise date
of birth for Maria Adelheid. That date was verified in Twist parish records. Adelheid's
husband's name and information about their children was taken from Margaret Gentges' book Births
