This ID is not 100% certain
because of the discrepancy in birthdates
Wilhelm's date of birth as Apr 1834 was noted in the WCdbs.
It was 1830 on his tombstone and Nov 1830 on the 1900
census. The date noted above was the closest match for
a son of Joseph Leifeld and Anna Schwarte who were the
parents of Wilhelm's siblings noted in the WCdbs. Information
about marrage, children and death was from the WCdbs.

was found in Dave Halm's database. The birthdate noted was Oct 19, 1834, Salzburgen. That
parish's records were checked but no birth/baptism entry for Maria/Anna Katharina was
found on or near that date. An entry was found one year and several weeks earlier for
Maria Catharina with the correct parents and that is the date noted above. |

Angela's parents' names were not on her
marriage record but her date of birth was known to Teresa Tully, probably from her death
record. That allowed her to be identified in the Herzlake parish baptismal listings on Dr.
Stefan Remme' website Zur Geschichte von Dohren im Emsland. Angela's parents' names
were taken from that record and were the same as for presumed siblings in Clinton County.
Angela's marriage was at St. Boniface parish. Her death, emigration and children's
information was all supplied by Teresa Tully. more about sources used |

Most of the information for this emigrant was
supplied by Teresa Tully. Tobias' parents' names were known from family documents and his
approximate year of birth (ca 1806) was known from his age at death and from the 1880
census. Children of Tobias and Anna Margaretha were known to have been born in Klein
Dohren so the Herzlake parish records were checked and a baptismal entry was found there
in 1804 with the correct parents for Joes Eilardus Tobias LENGERS. more about sources used
