Bernard Heinrich's approximate year of
birth was known from his age on censuses and at death
(49 yrs, 9 mo.) His probable place of birth was known
from emigration index entries for him. Herzlake parish
records were checked on Dr Remme's online parish database
and a corresponding birth bapt entry was found there for
him one year later than indicated by his age at death.
His parents' names as noted above were from that record.
His wife's surname was known from a family genealogy page
which is no longer online. Marriage information was from
the county marriage index.

Theodore's parents'
names were on all three of his marriage records, each
one at St. Vincent de Paul parish and his age was known
from an entry for him in the emigration index in Osnabrueck.
With that information he was identified on a list of emigrants
in the book by Elisabeth Behnen et al. - Berssen -
Ein Dorf im Emsland - Orts- und Kirchenchronik which
gave his exact date and place of birth and confirmed his
parents' names. The first two children were found in the
baptismal records of St Vincent de Paul parish. The remainder
were from the 1870 MO census.

allowed a brief entry for him to be identified in Walter
Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus
dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which
supplied probable place of birth. Lathen parish records
were checked and a corresponding birth/bapt entry found
there for Herman Otto. His parents' names as noted above
were from that document.
