Johan Herman Hagener (born Scherpen)
and Maria Anna Catharine Prenger

Johan Herman Scherpen was born August 13, 1825 in Holthausen (parish in Meppen.) After his mother, Anna Adelheid Hagener, died, he was adopted by  Johan Albert Hagener, his mother's brother.
He emigrated with Johan Albert Hagener in 1847 on the ship Von Vincke.

Anna Maria Catharine Prenger was born in 1833, probably in Amt Bentheim, daughter of Johan Heinrich Prenger and Anna Maria Gesina Wolken.
She emigrated in 1840 on the ship Rebecca with her parents and siblings.

Johan Herman Hagener and Anna Maria Catharine Prenger
were married Apr 12, 1853 in Taos, Cole County, MO.
