She emigrated with her parents and brother in 1845 on the ship Luntine.

The children of Johan and Maria Adelaide were
Francis Leopold born in 1859, John Henry in 1861, Herman in 1864,
Herman in 1870, Albert in 1871, Henry in 1874 and Elisabeth in 1877.
