Bernard Heinrich's parents' names and his age
were on his marriage record at Sts Peter and Paul parish. A corresponding entry was found
for him on the 1839 Gross Hesepe census but on that document the mother's surname was
KLAENE, different the mother's name on his marriage record which was RHEINERS. Gross
Hesepe's parish records were checked and a baptismal entry was found for Bernard Heinrich
whose parents had the same surnames as the parents on his marriage record (RAKERS and
RHEINERS/RAINERS.) The marriage record of his parents, however, showed that the bride's
mother's name was KLAENE. The reason that Bernard Heinrich's mother's name was changed
from RAINERS to KLAENE on the 1839 census is not known. more about sources used |

Heinrich Rakers, his wife Anna Maria Moeller and their 2 daughters in the book Auswanderungsliste
fuer die fruehere Pfarrgemeinde Twist in den Jahren 1838 - 1910 nach Amerika which
gave birthdates for each person. All of them corresponded to the ages of the B H Ruckers
family on the 1860 MO census. Twist parish records were checked and a corresponding
birth/baptism entry found there for Bernard Heinrich. The children born in Taos were
baptized at St Francis Xavier parish. more about sources used |

Gerhard Herman's parents' names were not on
his marriage record at St Francis Xavier parish but his approximate year of birth was
known from his age on the 1860 census. That date corresponded with the age of a child
named Gerhard ROHLKERS on the Rebecca. The godmother for his firstborn child was
Anna Maria SANDT (born ROCKERS), a daughter of the same family also on the Rebecca.
Gerhard Herman's parents' names and probable place of birth were known from that passenger
list so the Twist parish records were checked and a corresponding baptismal entry was
found there for Gerhard Herman Johan. The first three children were baptized at St Francis
Xavier parish in Taos. Information about children born 1861-69 was taken from Gus Sexton
WorldConnect database which was also the source of Gerhard Herman's death information. more about sources use
