Herman went by the surname SCHNELKER in St. Louis but in
verifying his birthdate in Soegel parish records it
was discovered that he and his father were entered in those
records with the surname SCHNELTEN. Herman's marriage was
at Sts Peter and Paul parish and his chidlren were baptized
there (although records haven't yet been found for several
of them whose names were known from family sources.)
