names and his age (40) were on his marriage record in 1867
at Sts Peter and Paul parish. That information was lacking
on the record of his marriage in 1857 at the same parish.
Because it was known that there was a Sievers-Luepken couple
in Soegel in the 1830s, that parish's records were checked
and a baptismal entry found there for Wilhelm. Information
about the child was taken from the 1860 census.

Gerhard's parents names were not on his
marriage record at Sts Peter and Paul parish which keeps this ID from being 100% certain
but other information makes the ID seem extremely likely. There was an entry found in the
Osnabrueck emigration index for someone with Gerhard's name born in 1830 in Dalum and a
baptismal entry for that Gerhard Heinrich was found in Hesepe parish records (born 2 days
later than indicated in the emigration index.) The parents' names listed above were taken
from that record. A witness at Gerhard's wedding in 1858 was Johan Heinrich Sillies and
someone by that same name also married in 1858 at Sts Peter and Paul parish. Johan
Heinrich's parents' names were on his second marriage in 1868 at the same parish and
established with certainty that he was a brother of Gerhard Heinrich Sillies born in 1830
in Dalum. Gerhard Sillies was a witness at both of the marriages of Johan Heinrich. more about sources used |

Anna Maria's age found on
various documents indicated she was born 1801-1807. Her
parents' names were noted on her marriage record and also
on a brief entry for her in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen
und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen Kreise Lingen nach
Nordamerika which noted her marriage information and
year of emigration and that she left from Freren but did
not include year of birth. Freren's records were checked
and the only possible ID for her was the 1807 baptism
for Anna Maria. Her year of death was noted in the Fehlker/Timmer
entry in the History of marion and Clinton County.
Children born in 1842 and 1844 were baptized at St Boniface
parish. Information about the other children was from
censuses.
