Bernard Heinrich's date of birth as Feb 20,
1816 was given on his marriage record but calculated from his age at death (76 yr, 8 mo,
24 days) it would have been Dec 25, 1816. His parents' names were on his first 2 marriage
records and his death record, which also gave his place of birth. Lengerich parish records
were checked and a corresponding birth/baptism entry found there for Bernard Heinrich. more about sources used |

His date and place of birth were stated on his death record

his tombstone. Clement's other two marriages were found
in the Clinton County marriage index (online on the county

Anna Catharina's parents' names and the name
of her first husband were on her marriage record in 1856 at St Vincent de Paul parish. The
date of her first marriage was found in the St. Louis marriage index but the parish is not
known. Her sister Margaretha was known to have been born in Doerpen, so that parish's
records were checked and a baptismal entry was found there for Anna Catharina. It is not
known who the parents of the 3 oldest children on the 1860 census were. Because of their
ages, Wilhelm and Mary were probably Bernhard Jansen's children but Elisabeth born ca 1854
may have been either his or Anna Catharine's. more about sources used |
