Anna's parents'
names were not on her marriage record at St Francis Xavier
parish but her date of birth was on her tombstone. That
allowed her to be identified on her family's entry in the
book Auswanderungsliste fuer die fruehere Pfarrgemeinde
Twist in den Jahren 1838 - 1910 nach Amerika which gave
the same date of birth. The same information and place of
birth as Gross Hesepe was found in Gus Sexton's WorldConnect
database. The birth information was then verified in Gross
Hesepe parish records. Information about the children was
taken from Gus' database.

Herman Heinrich's birthdate was on his
tombstone and his probable place of birth was known from an entry in the emigration index
which appeared to have been for him. Gross Hesepe parish records were checked and an entry
found there for Herman Heinrich on the same date as the one on the tombstone. The parents'
names noted above were taken from that document. His marriage was at St Francis Xavier
parish and his children were baptized at the same parish. more about sources used |

parents names were found in Cletus Hoer's book Marriages performed in or near
Westphalia, Osage County, MO. In the same author's book listing deaths occuring at the

thought to have been born in Gross Hesepe so that parish's records were checked and a

Elisabeth's approximate year of birth was
known from her age on several censuses. Her probable place of birth was known from an
entry for her and her brother in the Osnabrueck emigration index. (She was a witness at
his marriage in 1859 in Taos and he was listed on the same page as the BRANTS on the 1860
census.) Gross Hesepe parish records were checked and a corresponding baptismal entry was
found there for Maria Elisabeth. Her parents' names as noted above were taken from that
document. more about sources
