Joh Herm and family were living next to Joh Bernard Wellen
who, from the 1829 census in Slagharen, was known to have
had a twin named Johan Herman. Also the date of birth on
Johan Herman's tombstone was the same as that of his twin
in Walter Tenfelde's book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer

had given place of birth as Bawinkel. Johan Herman's birthdate
was verified in that parish's records. Information about
the wife and children is from the 1870 census. His wife's
surname was found in the book Auswanderungsliste fuer
die fruehere Pfarrgemeinde Twist in den Jahren 1838-1910

included place of birth, parents' names and age (29), was
found online and submitted by Richard Schaefer.

Dave Halm who

Mary Ann's probable
place of bith, her parents' names, her husband's name and
her year of emigration were known from her family's entry
on the the Passe list of emigrants from Wettrup, Lengerich
to Wabasha, MN. Her age on the list was given as 10 which
must have meant months rather than years when compared with
her age on the 1880 census. With that information an entry
was identified for her, as Maria Anna Welp, in Walter Tenfelde's
book Auswanderungen und Auswanderer aus dem ehemaligen
Kreise Lingen nach Nordamerika which gave her exact
date and place of birth, her husband's name and marriage
date and her parents' names. Information regarding death,
marriage and children was taken from Dave Halm's database.
